The Central African government today announced the outcome of an investigation into the murder of nine Chinese men at a gold mine a month ago.

The investigation confirmed that the Chinese were “assassinated” by the main rebel group, the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC).

This group, which on 19 March, the day of the attack, denied all the accusations of the Bangui government and in turn accused the Russian paramilitary group, Wagner.

On Wednesday, the Central African Minister of Justice Arnaud Djoubaye Abazène pointed the finger at the CPC as the perpetrators of the Chinese assassination.
