Under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the first edition of the international festival “Rabat’Doc Africa” will be held from 25th to 29th April in Rabat.

This edition, organized by the Sijilmassa Centre for Audiovisual Studies and Research and Mohammed V University, is placed under the theme “The African documentary film, a lever for creativity and development”.

According to the organizers, this event is a new meeting place for African exchange and aims to enrich the cultural scene of Rabat, the capital of African culture 2022.

Documentary screenings, exchanges, supervised professional workshops, and parallel activities will be on the program while following an approach that takes into account the artistic dimension, intellectual exchange, and the sharing of experiences.

During this edition, an interactive session entitled “I have a dream” will be held by the director Aicha Macky from Niger and the Moroccan director Mohamed Reda Guezenay.

The festival will also be an opportunity to pay tribute to Moroccan director Ahmed El Maânouni, with the screening of his famous documentary “Al Haal”, as well as to Burkinabe director and film professor Konate Issiaka, for his contribution to African cinema.

On the sidelines of this cinematographic event, an agreement for the creation of the African Federation of University Film Clubs will also be signed.
