Guinea-Bissau to Launch Guinea-Bissau Airlines

The Minister of Transport and Communications of Guinea-Bissau, Aristides Ocante da Silva, announced Thursday that the country will soon have its national airline.

This statement was made during the signing ceremony of an agreement between the government and the vice president of the company Jitaa Aeronautique, Gaussu Sauané.

The minister said that the new company called “Guinea-Bissau Airlines” will ensure the connection with the countries of the sub-region and the rest of the world, adding that Muslim pilgrims will be able to go on pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, via this company.

For his part, Gaussu Sauané said his company was safe and very present in West Africa.

Under the agreement, Guinea-Bissau will own 30% of the revenues, while Jitaa Aeronautics will hold 70% of the shares in the first phase of its implementation.
