Ambassador Mohamed Arrouchi, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the AU and UNECA, addressed on Thursday the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU), during a public session devoted to the prevention of hate ideology, genocide, and hate crimes in Africa.

During this event, Mr. Arrouchi reiterated Morocco’s commitment to promoting the values of mutual respect, tolerance, coexistence, acceptance of others, and the culture of peace.

On this occasion, the Moroccan ambassador highlighted the particularity of Morocco as a model of governance in the religious domain and as a land of tolerance and peace.

Indeed, Morocco, by the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine, has made considerable efforts to promote the positive values of dialogue and brotherhood between different civilizations and religions.

The Moroccan delegation referred to the 9th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations, organized for the first time on the African continent, and whose conclusions emphasized the values of dialogue and tolerance.

Mr. Arrouchi also stressed that these actions of Morocco are consistent with the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which aims at “a peaceful and secure Africa”.
