Local media in Burkina Faso reported that the Burkinabe army neutralised several terrorists on Saturday as part of operations against terrorist groups in several parts of the country.

The Burkina Information Agency BIA reported, citing security sources, that “the fighting forces inflicted many losses on the terrorists and destroyed important logistics belonging to them.

Without specifying the outcome of this operation, the same source said that even terrorists from the so-called Muslim Support Group, who had come to reinforce the Nassoumbou region, had been spotted by surveillance vectors and neutralised.

The BIA also pointed out that the fighting forces are putting pressure on several hideouts in the Mangodara area, where the number of terrorists has been reduced considerably.

The Burkinabè army has attacked terrorists who crossed paths in the Falangountou area.

Similarly, the commune of Sollé was resupplied on Friday and the terrorists who tried to attack the convoy were killed.

Since Ibrahim Traoré came to power, he has expressed his “unwavering determination” to fight terrorist groups despite the increase in attacks in the country, which have left nearly 10,000 people dead and nearly two million internally displaced since 2015.
