The Director of the National Centre for Strategic Studies (CNES), General Aimée Barthélémy Simporé, said on Thursday that the Centre has completed five studies in 2022, including those on the generalized popular war, the ideology of terrorist armed groups, and the use of military and civilian drones.

General Aimée Barthélémy Simporé was speaking on Thursday in Ouagadougou, at the workshop for the restitution of the 2022 base studies of the National Centre for Strategic Studies.

As a tool of anticipation and strategic thinking, the CNES is required to conduct reflections and propose solutions to the public authority, added General Aimée Barthélémy Simporé.

Regarding the subjects of the studies presented by the center, the first study focused on the dynamics of militancy of armed terrorist groups. Another study focused on the geo-use of drones in West Africa, and the third study focused on the presence of foreign forces in Africa.

Another study on generalized popular warfare is used to determine how Burkina Faso can implement citizen involvement adapted to the fight against terrorism.

Finally, another study was devoted to cooperation, particularly the structure of cooperation and collective security.
