The Indian Army on Wednesday presented locally produced helicopters, drones, and artillery to the chiefs of staff and authorities of 31 African countries.

A military operation simulation was conducted by the Indian Army featuring commandos with drones, armored vehicles, helicopters, and mine-clearing robots.

This operation, which took place in Pune (west), the country’s main manufacturing center for military equipment, is part of the sale of military equipment made in India at affordable prices.

India, the world’s largest importer of arms, notably from Russia, aims to become a major exporter while reducing its dependence on imports.

This South Asian country would like to strengthen its border with China by injecting billions into the defense sector.

This operation comes after nine days of joint military exercises with 23 African countries, including Ethiopia, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Africa.
