The 55th session of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development (COM2023) on Tuesday expressed its support for the Tangier Declaration on the Promotion of the Peace-Security-Development nexus at the close of its proceedings.

Thus, the African Ministers of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development expressed their full support for the first African Union Political Conference on the promotion of the link between peace, security, and development, organized last October in Tangier.

It should be noted that the COM2023 started, on Monday in Addis Ababa, its work with the participation of Morocco.

The Moroccan delegation which participated in this session under the theme “Fostering recovery and transformation in Africa to reduce inequalities and vulnerabilities”, was led by the Ambassador Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the African Union and UNECA, Mohamed Arrouchi.

This 55th session was marked by the election of Morocco to the Bureau of the Conference as 2nd Vice-Chairman and member of the Drafting Committee for two years.

The Conference was attended by Ministers of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development of African Member States, Central Bank Governors, entities of the United Nations system and Pan-African financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
