The annual military exercise “Flintlock” led by the U.S. military ended Tuesday after two weeks of training in Ivory Coast and Ghana.

This military exercise aims to strengthen the operational abilities of African armies in the fight against jihadism.

In this context, the US ambassador to Ivory Coast, Jessica Davis Ba, said during a speech at the International Academy for Combating Terrorism (IACCT) in Jacqueville, that the United States strongly supports the efforts of Côte d’Ivoire and all of Africa in the fight against terrorism and jihadism.

The Chief of Staff of Ivory Coast, Lassina Doumbia, who was present during the training exercises, commended the “determination and rigor” displayed by the 165 soldiers who underwent training during this edition.

In all, 1,300 soldiers from 29 countries met this year, 900 in Ghana and 400 in Ivory Coast.
