A memorandum of cooperation between the Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Morocco in the area of mutual recognition was agreed upon by the Saudi Council of Ministers on Tuesday during a meeting presided over by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Ben Abdelaziz. for regional products, halal certification.

This Memorandum of Understanding, which relates to the expansion of cooperation in the area of mutual acceptance of halal certificates and local products, was signed by the two nations on October 3 in Rabat.

The middle eastern country was represented by the Saudi Food and Drug Agency (SFDA), while on the Morocco side, he was represented by the Moroccan Institute for Standardization (IMANOR).

The two parties’ cooperation also aims to enhance the exchange of skills and information in the fields of training, laboratory analysis, and the creation of halal products.

The signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of the visit of the Saudi Minister of Commerce, Majid Al-Qasabi, to Morocco, who was accompanied by a high-level Saudi delegation composed of representatives of 14 ministries and 62 private sector actors.
