According to data released on Wednesday by the statistics office, consumer inflation in Ghana decreased from 53.6 percent in January to 52.8 percent in February.

From peaking at 54.1 percent in December, a level not seen in more than two decades, inflation has been slowing over the past two months.

Ghana is in the midst of the biggest economic crisis in a generation and is reorganizing its debt to obtain a $3 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund.

In an effort to slow the rate of price increases, the central bank raised its key lending rate by 13.5 percentage points in the last year.
