According to IMF mission leader Edward Gemayel, the IMF has revised its forecast of Senegal’s 2022 gross domestic product (GDP) downward from 4.7 percent to 4 percent.

Gemayel added without providing a specific projection that while growth is anticipated to accelerate next year, it would come in lower than anticipated.

He predicted in November that the economy of the West African nation would expand by 8.3% in 2023 thanks to a brief boost from oil and gas output.
