“There are currently conversations taking place to include Morocco in Spain and Portugal’s bid to host the 2030 World Cup, according to numerous Spanish media sources.

According to an article published in the Liberian journal, both nations’ football associations are looking at this possibility. We write, “The inclusion of Morocco will be carefully discussed in the days and weeks to come, but it seems that its final inclusion will be related to the departure of Ukraine from the joint candidacy of Spain and Portugal to host the 24th edition of the World Cup.

After allegations of fraud and money laundering against Andriy Pavelko, the head of the Ukrainian football federation, Ukraine withdrew. This has been suspended for a brief length of time pending the outcome of the inquiry into the incident, In light of the Russian-Ukrainian War, there was a clear geopolitical component to Ukraine’s presence.

According to the AS media, the Spanish federation is in talks with Morocco over a potential inclusion.

The last time Spain held the World Cup was in 1982, whereas its neighbors Portugal and Morocco never did so, despite the fact that all three have the necessary infrastructure and have recently hosted significant football competitions.

The idea of a candidacy including the three nations has been floated before. The same media outlets had covered similar stories in 2017, but this time they focused on the United States, Mexico, and Canada’s bid to host the 2026 World Cup.

Once more in 2018, before Madrid and Lisbon released a statement that only referenced a candidacy supported by the pair, the notion had been raised.
