The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (RMFF), isn’t satisfied with the judgments rendered by the Disciplinary Jury of the African Football Confederation (CAF) regarding Morocco’s non-participation in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) of local players, organized in Algeria, has decided to appeal these decisions, said its president, Fouzi Lekjaa.

“The decisions taken by CAF did not name those responsible for the damage suffered by the national team, deprived of defending its title, as well as for the violence suffered by Moroccan fans”, underlined Lekjaa in an intervention on the waves of the sports news radio station “Radio Mars”.

The letter sent by the RMFF to the CAF related to two essential points, namely the speech made by a person foreign to the world of football, “which seriously undermines the principles governing football competitions”, he noted that the second point concerns the fierceness of part of the Algerian supporters against the Moroccan public considered today as “One of the best in the world”.

“The person who spoke at the opening ceremony of this competition must be subject to the sanctions that are necessary in the case in point”, he insisted, indicating that the RMFF will defend “with the last energy” the national cause and the rights of Moroccan supporters.

“Morocco’s positioning within CAF is quite natural and is imbued with the proactive policy advocated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI towards Africa, which is a model to follow”, he highlighted, noting that the Moroccan model of South-South cooperation is an “example to follow”.

Following the Moroccan selection’s absence from the African Nations Championship (CHAN) for local players, which was held in Algeria from January 13 to February 4, 2023, the CAF disciplinary tribunal ruled last Saturday not to penalize the RMFF.
