Stud: Moroccan Companies Increasingly Investing in Digital Marketing

A recent study has found that the digital marketing sector currently makes up an average of 17% of promotion budgets for companies in Morocco, and this percentage is expected to grow in the coming years.

The study titled “Digital Trends Morocco 2022,” was conducted in partnership with the IPSOS office and aimed to measure industry trends and identify areas of development in Morocco.

52 advertisers were surveyed in the study, which covered topics such as digitization in contracting, marketing strategies, and budget allocation. The study found that all participants utilized digital activity in their marketing efforts in the previous year, a notable increase from the 81% reported in the 2017 edition.

Additionally, 27% of participants plan to hire new personnel in fields such as data science, project management, and website and application development.

The study also highlighted several key factors for success in digital marketing strategies, including experience, appropriate budget, and full management involvement in achieving goals such as improving digital reputation and customer experience.

Social media platforms are the most important channels for implementing digital strategies, with Facebook being the most popular platform, followed by LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Direct marketing through SMS and email, as well as mobile applications, are also frequently utilized.

In terms of digital content, the study found that 88% of advertisers have a content strategy for digital marketing, with images and videos being the most commonly used forms of content. French is the dominant language for digital content, followed by Arabic and dialect.

Overall, the study’s results suggest that the digital marketing sector in Morocco is growing rapidly, and advertisers are increasingly investing in this area to stay competitive in the market.
