Coton Sport of Cameroon will play 10-time champions Al-Ahly in Cairo on Sunday with the goal of earning their first victory in Group B of the CAF Champions League.
Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Coton Sport 3-1 to start their season, and they then fell to Al-Hilal 2-1.
A repetition of 2008 when the Cameroon national champions made the final of the CAF Champions League is unlikely, but head coach Gabriel Haman stated that his “youth players are eager to exhibit their skills”.
In their past eight encounters with Al-Ahly, Coton Sport has only managed one victory in five games overall and across all competitions.
