The photo exhibition ‘Esprit Revue Noire and the Founding Collection’ in Madagascar has earned an extension for an additional two months until May 2023, thanks to its success. This offers the Malagasy public a kind of anthology of photography in Africa in the 20th century.

Due to its success, the organizers have extended the exhibition event “Esprit Revue Noire, a founding collection” until May 5th, allowing Malagasy visitors to explore the boundaries of African photography for another two months since it began at the beginning of the year. The Hakanto Contemporary Art Center, which is hosting the exhibition, has just announced this.

With thirty artists exhibited – from the forerunners of photography on the continent to the most fashionable today – and original shots, most of them unveiled for the first time on the Big Island, this exhibition offers the public a kind of anthology of photography, in Africa, in the 20th century.

Thus, the showrooms are always full. Dozens of young people flock to come and admire these unpublished photos, collected across the whole continent, like this young woman, captivated by the diversity of the works on offer.
