A marathon race in Buea, southern Cameroon, was hit by an explosion today, Sunday, leaving 18 injured.

3 explosions occurred in the English-speaking region of Cameroon, while one of the armed groups – known in the country as the “Ambazonia Defense Forces” – announced its adoption of the operation.

These explosions occurred at the launch of the 28th edition of the “Race of Hope”, which revolves around the ascent of Mount Cameroon in Buea, the capital of the southwestern region, 70 km from Douala, the country’s economic capital.

The province to which Boya belongs has been witnessing bloody conflicts for years between separatist groups and regular army forces.
