The Association of Migrants in Difficult Situations Assistance, along with the families of immigration victims, carried out a protest on Friday, standing in front of the diplomatic mission of the European Union Commission, in order to demand the disclosure of the fate of immigration victims.

The protest slogans called for the establishment of dignity, truth, and justice, as well as revealing the fate of the victims of migration, whether through borders or sea coasts.

The association that based in Oujda, delivered a letter to the European Union ambassador to Morocco, which was received by an official in charge of relations at the embassy from Hassan Ammari, the president of the association.

The letter called on the European Union and its constituent states to fulfill their international human rights obligations, to stop the gross violations against immigrants regardless of their nationality, color, or affiliation, and to respect their rights in accordance with the requirements of international law and international humanitarian law.

The Commission also called for the nominal announcement of all the names of the arrested, detained, convicted, as well as the deceased, and to take all procedural measures to facilitate the process of identifying the bodies, publish all data regarding them, and hand over the remains to their families.

Among the demands of the European Union, Morocco, and the Ministry of Justice and Interior is to respond to the demands of the families of the missing and the deceased, to simplify and speed up the process of identifying the deceased, as well as the demand of families to conduct a DNA operation and to enable families to have the right to move and obtain visas to search for their children and relatives.
