Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said, during a press interview with Algerian media, that the solution to the Sahara conflict was not far from being resolved during the period of the late King Hassan II.

These statements came during the election of Ibrahim Ghali, leader of the Polisario Front, at the sixteenth conference organized last January.

Abdel Majeed Tebboune added that Ibrahim Ghali entered the royal palace in Rabat at least twice when he met the late King Hassan II, and “was part of the negotiating delegation that was not far from the solution before the departure of King Hassan II and the complexity of matters.”

The Algerian president continued: “The thing that I testify to is that the Polisario Front conference was democratic,” adding, “They chose the fund and it did not impose itself with weapons or anything else.”
