Pending trial and consideration of a lawsuit filed by the Labor Party, a Federal High Court judge has banned Parks Management Committee Chairman Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, from distributing election material in the country.
The court has restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria (INEC) from distributing the 2023 election materials and personnel in Lagos State, pending the hearing and determination of the trial on the merits.
INEC was reacting to a written letter in which MC Oluomo asked the electoral umpire to entrust him with the distribution of the materials, while normally the electoral commission does not deal with MC Oluomo but rather the park managers.
The Lagos State Residential Electoral Commissioner, Olusegun Agbaje said the law prohibits NURTW from operating in the state.
