AU: Morocco participates in the 42nd session of the Executive Council

Morocco is taking part in the 42nd ordinary session of the Executive Council in Addis Ababa, in preparation for the Union’s Summit scheduled for 18 and 19 February.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Resident Abroad, Nasser Bourita, is representing Morocco in this session which continues in a closed session.

This session is devoted to the examination of the declarations and recommendations of the 36th Summit of the pan-African organization scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

An examination of the report of the 45th ordinary session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC), the annual report on the activities of the Union and its organs, the report on the operationalization of the CDC Africa, the progress report on the establishment and operationalization of the African Medicines Agency (AMA), the report on the social and humanitarian situation and the annual report on the implementation of the AU roadmap activities for the year 2022 on the theme of food are also on the agenda.

Similarly, the meeting would be an opportunity to address the 2023 theme roadmap on the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
