In 2023, local elections will be held in the Central African Republic.

On Tuesday (Feb. 14), the country’s prime minister, the head of the national elections authority, and the UN mission chief for the Central African Republic signed a document outlining a plan to ensure voter safety during the July polls (MINUSCA).

The formal outcome of fruitful interaction between the central African military and security forces and the MINUSCA is the Integrated Security Plan for the Elections.

The UN mission continues to raise awareness of the elections and promote peace among local residents, especially in Haute-Kotto, Ouham, and Ouandja-Kotto prefectures, where it has also conducted special civilian protection training for 25 defense and security forces. communities and authorities.

Local elections that were originally set for September 2022 were moved to January 2023 and then July 2023.
