A US-backed military exercise will be held from 13 to 24 February in Isiolo County, eastern Kenya. More than 1,000 troops from 20 countries on three continents will participate in the exercise, the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) said in a statement on Monday.

The military exercise will include, among other things, field training, real-time exercises, naval maneuvers, and special operations training.

Apart from the military maneuvers that will be held in Isiolo and Nairobi in Kenya, others will be scheduled in Uganda, Botswana, Djibouti, and Uganda.

The exercise, which will include training in humanitarian assistance, cyber, civil affairs, and other areas, will be led by the US Forces Southern Europe Task Force Africa (SETAF-AF).
