The Dakar Music Expo, which took place in the Senegalese capital from February 9 to 11, once again brought together music professionals and spectators within the confines of the French Institute. Concerts, conferences, and numerous encounters are on the program for this fourth edition.
The garden is splendid, the central cheesemonger in the inner courtyard hosts, under its foliage, a number of informal but necessary meetings and conversations. The cinema, meanwhile, is devoted to conferences.
For three days, the Institut français sees a number of professionals come to share their experience, discuss with their colleagues, and attend masterclasses which will allow them to acquire more in-depth knowledge in fields as little obvious as copyright or license or distribution agreements.
The director of the DMX, Doudou Sarr, is very attentive to all these exchanges which, in his view, will advance the sector of the musical and cultural industry in the direction of the professionalization of its actors.
