Terrorist groups continue their violent activities in Niger. Indeed, a statement from the Ministry of Defence said that 10 soldiers were killed by a group of “armed terrorists” in southwestern Niger.
Apart from the soldiers killed, 13 were injured and 16 people are still missing, so the death toll is rising.
At the time of the attack, the troops were on a mission near the Malian border in the northern department of Banibangou.
According to the statement, some of the attackers were killed during the combat, but the number is not determined.
The country is hit like Burkina Faso and Mali by the jihadist insurgency and terrorist attacks by armed groups such as those linked to al-Qaeda.
