The Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on Tuesday, said during a conference with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, that the Malian transitional president, Assimi Goïta, will take part in the Russia-Africa summit scheduled for next July in Sochi, Russia.
Furthermore, during the visit of the head of Russian diplomacy to Mali, cooperation between Mali and Russia was highlighted.
At the press conference, the Malian MFA said that Mali has the human resources for military activities but needs airlift. Russia will help Mali in this regard.
He added that with Russia’s support, Mali will be able to carry out effective operations against terrorism.
For his part, Lavrov assured that Russia will increase its quota of scholarships as well as encourage Russian investments in Mali.
