The Nigerian Federal Government and Ugandan authorities have re-reviewed the Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) on allowing direct air links between the two countries.

The two countries signed the air services agreement for the first time in 2002 before it was revised in 2005.

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, went with a delegation to Kampala for talks with Uganda’s Chief of Works and Transport, General Edward Katumba Kamala.

SiriKa stressed the importance of the air transport step, as it is the main real way to connect the peoples of Africa and promote trade between them.

Moreoverm, SiriKa urged African countries to make the African Air Transport Market (SAATM) a success, in order to achieve Africa’s Agenda 2065.
