After Pascal Affi N’Guessan on Saturday at the FPI, it was former President Henri Konan Bédié who in turn pronounced his wishes for 2023 in front of the PDCI-RDA militants gathered at his Daoukro stronghold on Sunday, January 29. The opportunity for a turn of the screw against the slingers of the historic party, bloodless and divided nine months before the municipal elections.

It is a warning shot whose recipients Henri Konan Bédié did not name, but they should recognize each other without difficulty. In front of the militants of his party, the PDCI-RDA, the former Ivorian president promised to be “intransigent with regard to all those who will take acts contrary to the cohesion of the party”. “The PDCI cannot allow disorder and division to flourish,” he added.

Moreover, times are tough for the oldest party in CIvory Coast. Several of its executives, including Narcisse N’Dri, the former chief of staff of Henri Konan Bédié, have already left to join the RHDP. And among those who remain, some slingers now dare to dream aloud of replacing the historic leader of his life.

In March, the PDCI should meet in an extraordinary congress, announced the latter, to “bring its statutes and rules of procedure into conformity”. And therefore begin to draw the outlines of the party’s candidacy for 2025.
