The first Angolan satellite control center was inaugurated on Friday by President João Lourenço in Luanda.

The National Mission and Satellite Control Center, in the municipality of Cacuaco, in Luanda, was inaugurated on Friday by President João Lourenço.

This new infrastructure is part of the national space strategy, its main task will be to ensure the control and operation of the “ANGOSAT 2” satellite put into orbit in October 2022.

“Angola will win in all services, so we will improve our telecommunications and social communications,” Lourenço said at the inauguration.

The control center, built on a total area of 6,617 square meters, will undoubtedly have economic benefits, assured President João Lourenço, also emphasizing its digital impact at the regional level.
