Government Council: Examination of a cooperation agreement on commercial navigation between Morocco and Djibouti

A cooperation agreement in the field of commercial navigation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Djibouti, presented by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohammed Abdeljalil, on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Resident Abroad, Nasser Bourita, was examined during the governing council meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.

It is about the agreement signed on November 14, 2022, and the draft law N°64.22 approving the mentioned agreement.

During a press briefing held at the end of the Government Council, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas declared that this agreement aims to organize the development of maritime transport between the two countries and the exchange of information necessary to accelerate and facilitate commercial exchanges by sea and via ports.

Mr. Baitas added that the agreement aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in this field, in accordance with the principles of equality and mutual benefit in the field of commercial navigation.
