Yellen called to improve food security and climate change in Africa

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called while her visit to Senegal, to accelerate the intervention to improve long-term food security in Africa and around the world while making agricultural practices and technology adaptable to a changing climate.

Yellen warning came as she heard beekeepers and other farmers that have been supported by the broader Green Climate Fund, which is helping small farmers in 155 villages in Zambia produce more food and manage the effects of climate change.

U.S. Treasury Secretary explained that food security and climate adaptation are the most important issues facing Zambia and the world.

Yellen’s tours included three countries in Africa, as part of a coordinated campaign planned by President Joe Biden and key members of his cabinet to expand relations with African countries.
