Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann said on Thursday from Doha that the team’s injured star striker Sadio Mané would return early and could play in the Champions League round of 16 against Paris SG.
Nagelsmann said Mané, who suffered a right fibula injury that ruled him out of the World Cup, would make a speedy and positive recovery, so “if all goes well he could play against Paris SG”.
Mané underwent surgery following his injury on 8 November during his club’s match against Bremen. As a result, the medical bulletin of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) announced that he will be absent for at least eight weeks.
Mané’s participation in the last 16 of the Champions League remains a hypothesis and depends on his state of health.
Since his move from Liverpool to Bayern, Mané has scored six goals and made three assists in the league.
