After two years of severe drought in Moroccan, the Minister of Equipment and Water Nizar Baraka revealed that water dams had recovered during the past week, with a filling rate of 30 percent in various regions of the country.

The minister revealed during the fourth meeting of the Steering Committee of the National Program for the Supply of Drinking and Irrigation Water 2020-2027, that the water dams were filled with 1.7 billion cubic meters.

According to meteorological data, there is no expectation that the rain will continue throughout this week, which makes the filling of dams recorded until Tuesday 20 December 2022 below the same level as last year.

The Moroccan dams recorded the last year 2021, a filling rate of about 3 percent.

The rainfall in the coming days will have a very positive impact on the improvement of dams and underground water, as well as on the agricultural level.
