The Former Secretary General of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asido Nketiah, won the chairmanship of Ghana’s largest opposition party after ousting Samuel Ofusu Ampofu.
Nketiah vacated the General Secretary role to contest this election polling 5,574 representing 65.17 percent of the valid votes cast.

The former member of Parliament and former Minister of Transport, Fifi Kuwaiti, was elected as the party’s new Secretary-General.
Immediately after the election commission announced the results, the new officials took their oaths of office.
