The 8th Ministerial Meeting of the African Union (AU) Specialised Technical Committee (STC) on Justice and Legal Affairs, of which Morocco is also a candidate, decided to postpone the examination of the candidatures for the chairmanship of the Committee to the next session, due to a disagreement on this chairmanship, pending a consensus, knowing that the position of chair of the STC Bureau occupied by South Africa is vacant.
Morocco was represented by the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, who stressed at the end of this 8th session that the disagreement concerns an important issue related to the question of nationality and stateless persons and the representation of African regions at the Bureau level.
