The U23 national team was supposed to leave for Algeria to participate in the 7th edition of the African Nations Football Championship. However, this did not happen as the national team spent the morning in the waiting room of Rabat-Salé Airport expecting the authorization to go to Constantine.
The President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, made a statement to the press from the airport saying that it is regrettable to deprive the lion cubs of this CHAN, while they have prepared for months to take part in the competition, showcase their talents and defend their title.
The national team had a great desire to win this competition as was the case during the last two editions.
The statement was made in the presence of FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe.
