The Republic of Guatemala opened its consulate general in Dakhla on Thursday, expressing its strong support for Morocco’s independence and territorial integrity over the Sahara.
The inauguration was headed over by Mario Adolfo Bucaro, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, and lamin Benomar, governor of the province of Wali of the Dakhla Oued- Eddahab region, with a number of elected officials recognized in Dakhla.
The opening of this new overseas mission will increase the number of consulates to be opened in the Southern Province to 28 (16 in Dakhla and 12 in Laayoune).
