CAF Cup: AS FAR and RSB for a pool seat

Entered in the Confederation Cup (CAF) the AS FAR and the Berkane Renaissance will be, this Wednesday, November 2, in the second additional preliminary round. While travelling to Mali and Tunisia for the first leg, the two clubs have to bring back good results that will make their task at home easier.

The two Moroccan teams have no right to make mistakes during their travels if they want to prolong their African adventure by qualifying for the hen phase. The qualification is also played on the road and a positive result outside is a step towards the goal.

The Renaissance of Berkane, the holder of the title and well versed in the displacements on the continent, fell on a big piece. The Tunisians of Union Sportive Monastirienne paid in CAF Cup following their elimination from the Champions League against Al Ahly of Cairo.

The meeting will be difficult for the Oranges in view of their last outings in Botola. For many observers, a premature exit of the winner of the competition would precipitate the departure of Algerian technician Abdelhaq Benchikha as well as some executives at the winter Mercato.

On the other hand, AS FAR reassures in view of its performance in Botola Pro also in the CAF Cup. The soldiers who will be dealing with the Djoliba AC club in Bamako (Mali) will be forced to apply during the first leg in the Malian capital to put themselves at ease for the return match in Rabat.

As a reminder, AS FAR qualified for this round after beating the Guinean side of Ashanti Golden Boys (4-0) in the first leg and (0-1) in the return leg. As for the RSB, it qualified in the second additional round thanks to its victory (2-0) against Kwara United FC of Nigeria, in the return match, despite its defeat (1-3) in the first leg in Lagos.
