U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris received the full endorsement of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Political Action Committee (PAC) leaders for her presidential bid.

“The Congressional Black Caucus Political Action Committee consists of members from this great caucus. We are now on a mission, and that mission is to ensure Kamala Harris becomes the next President of the United States,” declared Democratic Representative Gregory Meeks.

CBC Chair Steven Horsford also expressed his support for Harris, stating, “We have all the ideological viewpoints. Today, we are united behind one goal: winning for the American people.”

The CBC, composed of African American members of the U.S. Congress, was founded in 1971 and is officially nonpartisan. However, most members have traditionally been Democrats. Currently, the caucus includes only Democrats, with no Republicans. The committee aims to increase the number of African Americans in Congress and support allies of the African American community.

For committee leaders Gregory Meeks and Steven Horsford, supporting Kamala Harris is essential.

According to them, “She has played a pivotal role in the achievements of the past three and a half years, helping to reduce maternal mortality rates, protect reproductive freedom, and ensure economic opportunities for all.”
