An 80-year-old man, identified as Isiyaka Ayinde, tragically took his own life in Lagos, Nigeria. The incident, which occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, unfolded at the Watch Tower in the Araromi Imota area of Lagos State.

According to reports, a tenant within the compound made the grim discovery when they heard a commotion from the kitchen. Rushing to investigate, they found Ayinde’s lifeless body hanging from a rope tied to a window’s burglary proof.

Law enforcement sources disclosed that the family opted for an immediate burial, citing both the advanced age of the deceased and religious beliefs. Despite police intervention and documentation of the scene by Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau (DCB) personnel, the family remained resolute in their decision.

This tragic incident echoes a disturbing trend in the region. Earlier in January, a similar tragedy unfolded when a 32-year-old female bank marketing employee, Amarachi Ugochukwu, reportedly took her own life by ingesting a lethal insecticide.
