Coast Guard Intercepts Over 100 Irregular Migrants off Moroccan Coast

A coastal surveillance unit successfully intercepted a rubber boat off the shores of Dakhla, on Saturday, on board were 108 irregular migrants hailing from sub-Saharan Africa, including 28 minors, a woman, and a young girl.

As disclosed in an official communiqué from the Royal Armed Forces, disseminated via the official news agency (MAP), the rubber boat had embarked on its journey from the Mauritanian coast with the intent to reach the Canary Islands.

The same source reported that the rescued individuals received immediate medical attention before being transferred to the Royal Gendarmerie for the commencement of ongoing administrative procedures.
