Moroccans Top the List of Foreign Workers in Spain

Moroccans lead the list of foreign workers in Spain, surpassing 2.7 million in December, marking an 8.5% increase compared to the previous year.

Statistics from the Spanish Social Security revealed a total of 2,712,113 foreign workers in December, an increase of 12,839 compared to the previous month, making it the highest recorded number.

During the same period, the number of Moroccans working in Spain reached 323, ranking second after Romanians, whose count reached 333. Moroccans also topped the list among foreign workers coming from Italy, Colombia, and Venezuela.

Foreign workers in non-seasonal professions represent 13% of the total contributors to social security, with their number rising to 2,668,776 in non-seasonal occupations, an increase of 1,112 individuals compared to November.

Statistics further indicate that 862,013 of the foreign workers come from European Union countries, while the rest hail from other nations. The most prevalent nationalities include workers from Romania, Morocco, Italy, Colombia, and Venezuela.
