Afrobeats artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, expressed his lament over the challenges he faced in the year 2023. The renowned singer shared his sentiments in an Instagram story post on Sunday evening.

In a poignant message, Wizkid stated, “23, please show me Shege! 24, be kind to me!” This candid admission from the artist likely reflects the difficulties he encountered during the year, with the untimely passing of his mother being a significant factor.

Wizkid’s mother passed away in August 2023 while he was on a tour for his album, ‘More Love Less Ego,’ in Europe. The artist described this event as the “deepest pain in life.” As he expresses his hopes for a better 2024, it is evident that Wizkid is seeking a more positive and uplifting year ahead.
