The death toll from the attacks on villages in Plateau State, central Nigeria, from Saturday night to Tuesday morning, has increased to nearly 200, as reported by local authorities on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
Monday Kassah, the president of the Bokkos government council, stated that they had counted “148 villagers from Bokkos massacred in cold blood.” In addition to this, “at least 50 people were killed” in four villages in the neighboring Barkin Ladi constituency, according to Dickson Chollom, a local assembly member.
