Algerian Authorities Hand Over Body of Moroccan Youth Shot at Border Four Months Ago

After nearly four months since Algerian border guards opened fire on four Moroccan youths, the Algerian authorities handed over the body of the second victim, identified as A.M, to his family on Thursday evening. The body crossed the Moroccan border through the “Zoug Bghal” crossing in a hearse. Family members, friends, Royal Gendarmerie officers, and Auxiliary Forces were present to receive the body.

The funeral and burial of the Algerian shooting victim are scheduled to take place on Friday in his hometown of Oujda, It is worth noting that the Algerian authorities still hold one of the four youths in one of their prisons.

The incident of Algerian gunfire dates back to Tuesday, August 29, when four young men set out on a jet ski trip from the recreational port of Saidia to the “Ras El Ma” area in the Nador province. On their way back to Saidia, they mistakenly entered Algerian waters.
