Four Moroccan Migrants Found Dead off Spanish Coast

Four Moroccan migrants were discovered dead near their boat off the southern coast of Spain, according to a source from the Spanish police on Wednesday.

The source added that the bodies of four Moroccan men were found “drowned” near their boat off the coast of the Spanish city of Cadiz, as reported by “AFP.”

The boat also carried 32 other Moroccan migrants who managed to reach two beaches near Cadiz.

The four migrants arrived at the shore with their body temperatures low, and one of them was transported to the hospital.

Spain serves as a major gateway for migration to Europe, especially through the western Mediterranean, where boats depart from Morocco and Algeria.

The Spanish police have initiated an investigation into the incident.

Spain has been a focal point for migrant arrivals to the European mainland, and the number of migrants arriving has increased significantly, with over 13,044 migrants reaching the Spanish mainland and the Balearic Islands since the beginning of the year until November 15, marking an 11.5% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the latest figures from the Spanish Interior Ministry.
