Breakthrough in Senzo Meyiwa Murder Trial: Arrest and Charge of an Accused

In the ongoing Senzo Meyiwa murder trial at the Pretoria High Court, a key development emerged as a member of the investigations team shed light on the arrest and charging of one of the alleged killers. Sergeant Vusumuzi Mogane testified, offering insights during the trial within a trial.

The State has been working to establish the validity of confession statements by Bongani Ntanzi and Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, while the defense contends that these confessions were extracted under duress. Mogane detailed how Ntanzi came into police custody, noting that intel from an informer had linked Ntanzi to Meyiwa’s murder.

Subsequently, efforts were made to locate Ntanzi, who was eventually arrested for a different murder case in Nongoma. The trial’s proceedings provide a glimpse into the intricate investigative process surrounding this high-profile case.
