In a recent development, the Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, instructed staff members to declare their assets.

This directive was given at the EFCC’s headquarters in Abuja, where Olukoyede advised senior staff members of the commission to follow his lead and emphasized that there was no reason for them to be apprehensive.

Mr. Ola Olukoyede stated, “The EFCC is established by law, and we must carry out our responsibilities by legal provisions. This is a standard practice on an international level, and we are committed to making it a norm within our organization.”

Olukoyede stressed that asset declaration is mandatory for everyone within the commission, from Level 17 and below. He pointed out that he had already declared his assets, and now, it’s imperative for all staff members to do the same. The EFCC Chairman further indicated that asset declarations would be thoroughly investigated.

“We, as members of the EFCC, need to lead by example and maintain the highest standards of integrity. As anti-corruption advocates, our conduct must be beyond reproach, and that’s why we must declare our assets,” Olukoyede emphasized.

This important announcement was conveyed by the EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, in a statement made available to the media on Tuesday.
