The Burkinabe military conducted an airborne operation to destroy a terrorist base near Djibo, from which recent mortar shellings targeted the city, according to security sources reported by AIB. In the past hours, terrorists had launched mortar rounds at Djibo.

To preempt a potential attack, the Burkinabe Armed Forces swiftly organized an airborne operation. After pinpointing the source of the shelling approximately ten kilometers from Djibo, aerial units struck the targets. Subsequently, soldiers from the 14th Combined Arms Regiment (RIA) completed the operation by destroying the base. They also seized weapons, motorcycles, communication equipment, and night vision gear.

Notably, terrorists were neutralized on October 19, 2023, in the vicinity of Ouahigouya. Criminals were transporting their loot without concern after attacking shepherds and stealing their livestock. However, they were intercepted and eliminated during military airstrikes in Mouni.
